What actually happened
Slack complained to the EU in 2020 that Microsoft had pinned Teams to every Office subscription, forcing rivals to compete against a free product. In 2023 Microsoft gave in and pulled Teams out of Microsoft 365 for customers in Europe, selling a Teams-free version at a small discount. Europe got the choice. Everyone else kept the bundle.
