February's update refused to install and took drivers with it
February 2026 update failed to install for many, with network and audio fallout
The market's verdict: -4.1% on MSFT in the week after.
What actually happened
The February 2026 cumulative update failed to install for a wave of users with a buffet of error codes, and where it did install it brought DHCP "connected, no internet", failing Bluetooth devices, audio popping and Nvidia HDMI instability along for the ride. Microsoft's release health page later documented a C: drive "access denied" issue tied to the same update. A month after the January chaos, the theme of the new year was established: Patch Tuesday is a box of chocolates.
This one is well documented.
