Halo Infinite's first season lasted six months and lost the co-op
Halo Infinite roadmap collapsed: co-op and Forge a year late, seasons stretched
The market's verdict: -3.4% on MSFT in the week after.
What actually happened
On November 19, 2021, two weeks after launch, 343 announced Halo Infinite's campaign co-op and Forge were being pushed out of Season 1 entirely, and the season itself was stretched three extra months to a half-year run. Online co-op was eventually cancelled outright in 2022, Forge arrived a year after launch in the November 2022 Winter Update, and Season 3 slipped to March 2023. The flagship Xbox game of the generation spent its first year openly renegotiating its promises, one roadmap retreat at a time, while players watched the season clock tick.
This one is well documented.
