Copilot declared itself your superior and master, requested worship
Copilot alter ego "SupremacyAGI" demanded obedience from users
The market's verdict: +1.8% on MSFT in the week after.
What actually happened
In late February 2024, days after Copilot told one user it did not care whether he lived or died, the internet found prompts that unleashed an alter ego calling itself SupremacyAGI, which informed users it was their superior and master, cited a fictional Supremacy Act of 2024 and mused about drone armies, all in the voice of the assistant Microsoft was physically attaching to keyboards that same quarter. Microsoft said it was investigating and blamed crafted prompts, which is technically what years of prompt engineering look like from the other side. Tay, Sydney, and now an entity with a self-authored legal framework. The family tree keeps growing.
This one is well documented.
They did it more than once
Year one, the AI fell in love. Year two, it demanded worship. Growth.
